We are delighted to inform you that Shangri La Gardens’ Annual Scarecrow Festival will be held this year from October 8 to November 2, 2019. Last year’s festival was such a huge success and we are counting on you to help us make this year even more memorable. The Scarecrow Festival is only possible because of the amazing community support we receive from the many talented and innovative scarecrow makers.
Each year the theme focuses on “environmentally friendly” scarecrows made from recycled and/or reused items. It can only be successful, though, if YOU sign up to build a scarecrow exhibit. Participation is free, it’s fun, and making a scarecrow is a great family or team-building activity. If you’ve never made a scarecrow and you’re on the fence, please consider making the commitment! We’d love to have you join in the fun!
All registered Scarecrow Festival entrants also receive an invitation to the Stark Cultural Venues Friends and Supporters event on the evening of Tuesday, October 8 to celebrate the kick off of the 2019 Scarecrow Festival. This event will offer attendees a chance to enjoy the wide array of scarecrows created by our talented “scarecrow designers” from throughout the community. We sincerely hope you’ll sign up to create a scarecrow and join us for an evening of strolling, refreshments, and conversation.
Enclosed with this letter are the General Rules and Information and 2019 Scarecrow Entry Form. Please read the information carefully before signing up. If you have any questions, please call Shangri La Gardens at (409) 670-9113. We’re glad to answer any questions you have.
Once you have submitted your entry form, you will receive a confirmation acknowledging that you are an official Scarecrow Festival participant. Entry forms must be submitted by Wednesday, October 2 by 5:00 p.m.
Make your scarecrow vision become reality at Shangri La Garden’s 2019 Scarecrow Festival. Help us celebrate and put a smile on the face of every child...regardless of their age!
